"Pain in the What?"

In the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Pain is defined as “usually localized physical suffering associated with bodily disorder (such as a disease or an injury); acute mental or emotional distress or suffering.” There is a need to continue to maintain and improve the clinical diagnostic and therapeutic skills of physicians regarding all kinds of systemic pain complaints, pharmacologic and nonpharmacological treatment modalities, and maintaining quality health care. Recognition of pain etiologies and treatments is especially important in light of our country’s growing opioid epidemic.

At the conclusion of this weekend, physicians will be refreshed or educated on various formats in identifying and assessing pain etiologies, determining proper medical treatment, and managing the patient with quality health care.
