Membership Information
First Year in Practice
A First Year in Practice Member of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association (OOA) is a physician who is within their first year of independent clinical practice following the completion of residency or fellowship training. This membership category is designed to support physicians as they transition from training to practice and begin establishing their careers.
First Year in Practice Members have access to professional resources, networking opportunities, leadership development, advocacy initiatives, and continuing medical education designed to help them navigate the challenges and opportunities of early practice. The OOA is committed to providing guidance and support as these physicians build their practices, strengthen their professional networks, and become active participants in organized medicine.
Second Year in Practice
A Second Year in Practice Member of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association (OOA) is a physician who is in their second year of independent clinical practice. As physicians continue to grow professionally and refine their careers, the OOA provides opportunities for continued engagement, education, advocacy, and leadership development.
Second Year in Practice Members are encouraged to deepen their involvement within the Association, connect with colleagues across the state, and contribute their perspectives to issues affecting the osteopathic profession. Through participation in OOA activities and programs, these members continue to strengthen their professional foundation while advancing high-quality patient care and physician leadership.
Third Year in Practice
A Third Year in Practice Member of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association (OOA) is a physician who is in their third year of independent clinical practice and continuing to establish themselves within the healthcare community and the osteopathic profession. This membership category recognizes the unique needs of physicians during the early stages of their careers while encouraging ongoing professional growth and engagement.
Third Year in Practice Members benefit from continued access to educational resources, advocacy efforts, networking opportunities, and leadership pathways that support long-term success in practice. The OOA values the contributions of these emerging physician leaders and is dedicated to helping them build lasting connections, develop their professional skills, and become active advocates for osteopathic medicine and the patients they serve.
Associate Membership
An Associate Member of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association (OOA) is an individual who supports the mission, goals, and advancement of osteopathic medicine but does not qualify for Regular Membership. Associate Members may include healthcare professionals, educators, administrators, industry representatives, or other individuals with an interest in promoting the osteopathic profession and improving healthcare outcomes.
Associate Members have the opportunity to engage with the OOA through educational programs, networking events, and professional development activities while building meaningful relationships with osteopathic physicians and healthcare leaders across Oklahoma. Their diverse perspectives and expertise contribute to the Association’s efforts to advance patient care, physician education, and healthcare advocacy.
The OOA values the support and involvement of Associate Members and recognizes their important role in fostering collaboration, strengthening the healthcare community, and supporting the continued growth and success of osteopathic medicine.

Resident and Student Members of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association (OOA) represent the future of osteopathic medicine and are vital to the continued growth and success of the profession. This membership category includes physicians enrolled in accredited residency or fellowship training programs, as well as students enrolled in accredited colleges of osteopathic medicine.
Resident and Student Members have access to valuable resources and opportunities designed to support their educational, professional, and leadership development. Through participation in OOA programs, advocacy initiatives, networking events, mentorship opportunities, and continuing education activities, members can build meaningful connections with physicians, healthcare leaders, and peers across Oklahoma.
The OOA is committed to supporting Resident and Student Members throughout their journey from medical education to clinical practice. By engaging with organized medicine early in their careers, these members gain insight into healthcare policy, physician advocacy, professional leadership, and the principles of osteopathic medicine.
