2025 Interim Studies
Senate President Pro Tempore Lonnie Paxton has approved 73 interim studies for consideration. The studies were assigned to relevant Senate committees and will be scheduled at the discretion of each committee chair. No committee hearings have been scheduled yet. All approved Senate studies must be completed by October 31.
House members have requested 154 interim studies. House Speaker Kyle Hilbert will approve and maybe consolidate House members’ studies by July 25th.

73 Approved Senate Interim Studies + 154 Proposed House Interim Studies as of July 6, 2025

Also, below are the 73 Senate Interim Study proposals filed and approved by Senator Lonnie Paxton. Senate President Pro Tempore Lonnie Paxton has assigned each interim study to the relevant Senate committee and hearings will be scheduled at the discretion of each committee chair. All approved senate studies must be completed by October 31. These studies allow lawmakers to take a deeper dive into important issues facing the state ahead of the 2026 legislative session.
